Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Introduced

The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.

This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.

At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

First, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists groups.

Fans can expect finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
